Hi,
I am renewing advance parole (i-131 form) for me and my wife. Can some one answer what the "class of admission" means on the form and how do we fill it?
I entered the US as H1-B but moved to EAD status last month.
My wife entered the US on advance parole and is currently working on EAD.

Class of Admission is the status you were admitted into US. You entered on h1b and your wife on AP and thats the class of admission :)

Shouldnt be an issue as GC can be for a future job.....For H1 stamping, your current job requirements and title should be same as the requirements/title on your H1 petition/LCA....

These numbers include Family Based and as per my understanding 90 % of the applications are FB based.
For us who are EB based, the EB backlog should be more realistic and I am not sure how do we get them!

I am on H1-B visa. I also have I-140, EAD and AP approved recently. I plan to send paperwork for my mom's tourist visa. Do I need to send I-485 receipt notice and copy of EAd or is it OK to send copy of latest H1-B approval?

Approaching a senator is always okay. You don't have to prove that you are a taxpayer to get a senator's help. It may or may not help but it definitely is still worth a try. Note that if the senator provides some help and the wife and child visits for graduation day the visa status applications should most probably be for B1's (visitors).

I am planning to get religiously married by end of next year, 2009. But I am considering doing a quick court marriage in the next week since my dates are current. I have a couple questions regarding time frame:
1. If I do get my GC soon, then I need to apply for following-to-join. Is there a time limit for this? Can I do it as late as I want, as long as the spouse doesnt come to US before?
2. If I do not get GC for a while, is there a time frame after marriage before which I have to apply for my spouse's 485 as a dependent? Does she also need to be on H4 and in US before applying for 485?
Thanks a lot for all the help. I am relatively clueless about this marriage related GC business.

Hi friends
I travelled out of USA and am trying to get back into USA with AP. I am using H1B(not stamped).
THey temporarily transferred to me indian office for this duration.
I also have EAD with me(not yet started to use).Now My co. is not letting me to go back to USA
without a project.If incase i want to change my employer, how can I do it..
Will it hurt to go back without employers permission to USA and then to use EAD to get a job?
After this I plan to submit my resignation.For EAD, 180 days already crossed.
If I want to do the above,how many days I have to get a job with EAD with a new employer after I go to USA?
What are my options?

While there are some politicians genuinely concerned about the subject of immigration who are backing anti-immigration laws because they believe in the cause, there are many more who have jumped on the anti-immigration bandwagon to score political points (John McCain - I'm talking to you). Following is my visa status:
Working for company A on L1B visa which has expired and
1) L1 extension got approved from company A valid through Aug, 2010.
2) Also have Consular-H1B petition from same Company A valid till Aug, 2011.
No H1B visa stamp
Following are my questions:
1) I am sure, in my case i can transfer my H1B petition to company B with Consulor appointment. Needed confirmation
2) As soon as i get laid off from company A, can i immediately apply for H1B peition transfer to Company B with Change of Status (COS)? how much time i have before my L1 gets deactived?

Dear Attorney,
I am a July 2007 I-485 filer. Have an EAD but primarily working on H1B full-time as a Systems Analyst. I am a Certified Fitness Trainer but not sure if I can use my EAD to work as a Fitness Trainer in a local Gym (part-time).
Any advise will be much appreciated.
